Charity Therapy
We are a quilt and fabric drop-off site for

Quilts from the Bluffs

How about a little Charity Therapy? We've partnered with Quilts from the Bluffs, our local quilt ministry.  All quilts stay in the local area and are distributed to the local hospitals, Children's Square and to various needs in the community.

We are currently a drop off site for quilts, NEW socks and NEW underwear intended for the families affected by the floods in Mills County.  As of April 15, 2019 we have collected over 40 quilts and more are coming in daily.   All donations dropped off here are being collected by Quilts from the Bluffs and distributed accordingly.   Thank you all for supporting our neighbors and our community!

Community Contributions

December 2018

This year we joined forces with Lynn Doyle of Bloomin' Minds to offer assistance to families in need.   All proceeds from the sales of her "Yet The Same" pattern and kit were donated to the Food Pantry at the First Baptist Church in Council Bluffs.  The pantry can buy food from the CB Food Bank for 18 - 24 cents per pound.  That means the purchase of a kit provides up to 75 pounds of food. We sold over 80 kits/patterns this year adding up to more than $1200 in donations which translates into 6000 pounds of food distributed to those in need during the holidays.  Thank you for helping us help the community.

December 2017

Each year, Lynn Doyle of Bloomin Minds designs a project with the spirit of giving as her purpose. This is the third year, we've joined Lynn in her efforts.  All proceeds from the sales of her "A Giving Heart" pattern and kit sold through December 16th will be donated to the Goodfellows.  The Iowa West Foundation matches the donation dollar-for-dollar. Last year our contribution from this effort totaled over $2,400.

While the holiday season is a time of great joy for most Americans, many families are struggling, often for reasons beyond their control. The Goodfellows’ goal is to serve as a bridge – a means of allowing area residents to demonstrate the real spirit of the season by sharing some of their bounty with those who have fallen on hard times.

Thanks to all who purchased a kit or pattern, making Christmas just a bit brighter for at least five families in the local area.

Pantie Raid!

Thanks to our wonderful customers we were able to donate 7 pairs of pj's, 44 pairs of socks, and 121 pair of panties.  The Phoenix House was absolutely thrilled.

January 15 -23, 2016

Quilt shops around the world are joining forces with quilters to collect panties, undies, socks, pjs and more for local women’s shelters. Drop off a new, store-packaged item in any participating shop and receive a fat quarter as a thank you for your generosity.

Roseann Kermes, owner of Rosebud’s Cottage and originator of the annual Pantie Raid, found that shelters don’t always have what they need for women in crisis. "Women are the often the invisibles in domestic violence when they flee to a shelter. Everyone thinks about the kids and provides for them but so often the moms are the ones who need support. I think we all know how having nice undies always makes us feel better ... that's the feeling we should convey as we launch this year’s Pantie Raid.”
