Starflower Quilt Class

Approx. 57 x 65

Using a pack of 10” squares and some background fabric, you can make a cheerful Starflower quilt with a sassy little twist to it.  (And no special ruler needed!)

(30) 10” squares (with decent contrast to the background)

Sashing/Background:  2-3/4 yards

Border:  2 yards

Backing:  4 yards

Binding: 3/4 yard

Other requirements:

1. “Starflower” pattern from The Pattern Basket

2.  Rotary cutter and mat

3. Rotary ruler:  6 x 24 (unless you have cut background fabric ahead of class; then you won’t need one that long; a 6 x 12 would be fine); square-up ruler; Bloc-Loc Half Square Triangle ruler IF you like to use them (not required)

4. Sewing machine in good working order, with a means to sew accurate 1/4” seam

5. Standard sewing notions:  pins, extra needles, thread, etc.

Pre-Cutting (If you wish; you can also do this during class)

From each of 30 squares:  cut (4) 4” squares.  Sort into sets of 2 of the same fabric

From remainder:  (42) 2” squares for cornerstones

(60) 4” squares

(120) 1-3/4” x 3-1/2”

(30) 1-3/4” squares

Note:  We will order out for lunch, or you can bring your own.  (The shop has a refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven.).  The class will choose from which they wish to order:  Jimmy John’s, Pizza Hut, or Pizza Counter.    —
