Scrappy Applique Class

Jean used the Wild Animals Scrappy Applique Pattern and Amaya pattern (the zebra) for her projects.

Scrappy Applique Supply List
- Any size

  • Sewing machine (in working order)
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Seam ripper
  • Rotary cutter
  • Rotary Mat
  • 6” x 24” ruler
  • Any Shannon Brinkley Scrappy Applique pattern
  • Fusible web: Check pattern for the amount needed.
  • Parchment paper, used to keep interfacing from sticking when we don’t want it to stick.
  • Lightweight fusible interfacing, I used SF101. Check pattern for the amount needed.
  • Good quality clear thread
  • Dark permanent marker needed!

Background: check pattern for size you are making.

Applique: Check your pattern to see the supplies needed for your choice. It’s nice to have an assortment of fabrics for a scrappy look. I used 15 – 20 fat eighths. You can use scraps, but will need to fuse them to the fusible web, so make sure you have lots of parchment paper to do this.

Optional Cutting Party: Friday, Nov. 1, 4:30 – 6:00 pm. We will be fusing and cutting our fabric at this time, so if you can’t come you can fuse the fusible web to your fabric at home and join us on Saturday, Nov. 2 or begin fusing when you get there.

" If you want some help picking out fabrics or have questions, call Jean (712.309.6509) to make arrangements to get together or ask.

You can bring a snack or lunch if you wish, or we can order out.
