What's New at Cut Up & Quilt! April, 2016

Guest Instructor @ Cut Up & Quilt!

Our friend, Denniele Bohannon will be our guest instructor for two classes in April.  You might remember that we met Denniele in the parking garage of our hotel at Quilt Market last May.  We became instant friends and we invited her to do a trunk show for us based on the book she co-authored "Where the Poppies Grow".  Those who attended her trunk show encouraged her to come back to teach a class here. Well, here it is...she'll be here April 22nd and 23rd.

Four of Diamonds Table Runner
60" X 16.5"
Friday, April 22nd, 10:30 - 3:30

Harlequin Table Runner
43.5" X 15.5"

Saturday, April 23nd, 10:30 - 3:30

Kits are already prepared and waiting for you.

Denniele travelled to New Zealand this winter.  Keeping our class invitation in mind, she purchased fabrics exclusive to New Zealand for two table runner projects.  She and Becky worked over the phone to find coordinating fabrics from our shop to compliment the New Zealand fabrics.  The final outcome is kitted up for you.

Denniele is an internationally recognized author, pattern designer, instructor and all around fun person. We are so fortunate to have her share her talents and specially purchased New Zealand fabric with us.

Click on the pictures for more details on each class.  Class size is limited, so we expect them to fill fast.  Unfortunately we won't be able to add classes since Denielle is not a local instructor.

 Classes

Our April Schedule has all kinds of exciting classes and events.  Jean kicks off the month with the Stitching Oasis Sewing Machine Apron.  Keep all your "go to" tools handy at home, class or retreat. Can't get any more efficient than that.

Karen is super busy this month.  Her Frivolities with Karen group meets on the 1st Thursday of the month.  Karen has made the Frivols for the month and will share tips, tricks, and hints to make your life easier! The class is free and exclusive to those who purchase the tin. You can join any time. This is an informative session.  No sewing machine or supplies needed!

Karen hosts the English Paper Piecing (EPP) Group on the 2nd Thursday of the month.  If you are interested, it is free and it's open to anyone interested in EPP with others.

Based on popular demand the Dresden Plate Table Runner class is back on the schedule for Friday, April 15th.  We've still got spots open, so come join Karen and learn this traditional pattern/technique.

She follows up with one last Cogwheels class for those who bought the ruler and haven't had a chance to take the class.  And finally, she finishes off the month with her Wind Power class which is already full (but we'll add you to the waiting list).  After all that, Karen has decided to take the month of May off from teaching (with the exception of Frivols and EPP).  Look for new classes coming up in the summer months.

Kim has a 4-part Beginning Quilting class starting April 9th.  So, if you know someone who would like to start quilting, give them a nudge!

In additonal to all that, we've got a guest instructor teaching two classes for us in April.  More information below...
