What's New @ Cut Up & Quilt!

Happy Spring Everyone!

Congratulations Sally Dea, the winner of our 2017 Row by Row Challenge!

In February we announced a contest for our 2017 Row by Row design.  We had three wonderful entries.  Our CUAQ Therapy groups voted this past Thursday and chose entry #1 by Sally Dea as the winner.  We followed her inspiration and made some adjustments for Sally to make the final model and pattern.

Sally won a $100 gift card for her design. Deb Pogemiller and Jane Dietl each won a $25 gift card for submitting a design.   We certainly appreciate their efforts and love that CUAQers had a say in our row.

 The Great Fall Escape

Becky's been busy working out the details for "The Great Fall Escape".  We've got 7 shops participating in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota.  This is a two day trip for $159.  Now that sounds like a deal, doesn't it?  We are accepting reservations now.  You can make a down payment of $75 with a final payment due before September 10th.

 Upcoming Classes

Check out the classes/calendar page for a current list of classes and events. It's always changing with new additions that sometimes don't make it to the newsletter.

We're starting out April with a Wonky Rail Fence class taught by Jean. It's a modern, vibrant version of an old favorite with a little wonkiness thrown in for fun.  Raid your stash for the perfect fabrics to make this quilt...the more the merrier!

We have a new beginning quilting class starting April 8th.  It  You will learn the basics of quilting while making a Disappearing Nine Patch. If the dates don't work for you, never fear, we've got another sequence of classes starting in August.

There are two seats left in Karen's Sceptre class scheduled on April 15th. After this class you won't be wary of "on point" quilts any longer.

If you love bags and totes, Jean has justed added the "Explorer Tote" to our May schedule.  Jean always says she's not going to teach any more bag classes, but she just can't help herself when she sees a new one and the perfect fabric to go with it.   To optimize your class time, Jean will be starting with a Cutting Party the night before the class.

Not to worry, though, if you can’t attend Friday…just get there bright and early on Saturday to begin! (We open at 10:00!)

Karen has classes scheduled and planned out through September.  Be sure to check our classes and calendar to see what's ahead.
