It's mid January and we're just getting a newsletter out. We had our first snow/sew day this year this past Friday. Remember we are closed when the Council Bluffs Schools are closed due to inclement weather.
Becky loves to change the shop around, so you'll want to make it a point to come in to see the new quilts hanging for some quilting inspiration. You may find the fabric you were looking for in a new place and in the meantime, you might find a new treasure to add to your stash.
January also brings us the Annual Metro Area Flurry Frenzy. This year we added Country Traditions in Fremont to our expanding Metro Area. Collect a free fat quarter from each shop and you'll be seven fat quarters richer! Just pick up your passport at the first shop and drop it off at the last shop. Be sure to check shop hours before heading out.
Check out the classes/calendar page for a current list of classes and events. It's always changing with new additions that sometimes don't make it to the newsletter. Just click on the class you want and register on-line or in the shop. If it's full, be sure to add your name to the waiting list. It helps our instructors determine if another class will be added.
Please give us the courtesy to let us know if you need to cancel. It gives us a chance to contact someone who would love your spot. We will refund your class registration if we have at least a 24 hour notice.
Jean has one opening left in her afternoon session of the Log Cabin Class. It starts Thursday, January 24th and meets again on February and March 28th.
Karen starts off the new year with the Free Wheeling Single Girl Quilt. This class meets on Saturday, January 26th. Karen describes this as a fun and funky not-quite-a-circle quilt. She'd love to have you join her in the fun!
We've got a new beginner class starting on Thursday, January 31st. This is a 5-part class that will be meeting on Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30. It's a great way to get started with quilting or just get yourself reacquainted with an old hobby.
We have already filled Michael's 2-Fabric Bargello class. But, if you're interested, put yourself on the waiting list by clicking on the class to enroll. I bet we could convince him to teach it again. In the meantime, his wheels are turning for his next class.
Karen is waiting for us to finish her model for the Double Struck Star Class on the schedule for February. This quilt uses the Creative Grids 60 degree Diamond Ruler she demonstrated at our Anniversary celebration in September. You might have that ruler in your repertoire. If not, we do have them for sale in the shop.
Judy has one spot left in the March Teeny Tiny Collage Class. The first class was quite a success. We look forward to seeing their finished projects at the next CUAQ Therapy. If this is a class you are interested in, please put yourself on the waiting list for a future date. We'll contact you as soon as we have a date set up.
If you are looking for a Thursday evening class, Jean has added a 4-part Rings that Bind Class. It starts in March and you'll have it ready for quilting by early May.
